Employee Spotlight: Theresa

This July, we have the pride, the privilege, nay, the pleasure, of introducing to you Theresa Vosberg! Or, if you have made her acquaintance already, the opportunity to know more. And so, without further gilding the lily, and with no more ado, we give you the one, the only, Theresa!!!

Q: What is your color, based on the Colors training?

A: I tested almost 100% blue which means that developing relationships and connections with others are really important to me. Honest and authentic communication is key with me! I also have some gold characteristics that are primarily seen while at work. You can often find me making a to-do list to stay organized and my Outlook calendar is always up to date to keep my schedule straight.

Q: Tell us about yourself in a nutshell.

A: I love animals, especially dogs. If you have met me, you know that I am obsessed with my miniature Australian Shepard, Mumford. I am often the person that greets a dog before greeting its owner. I love to go to concerts and movies. I specifically enjoy bluegrass music and went to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June 2018. I love Colorado and all the outdoor activities. Hiking, snowshoeing, and camping are my favorites. My new goal is to get a kayak!

I have been working with individuals with disabilities since I was 15 in a variety of settings. I went to school and studied biology and at the time never considered a career path related to working with people with disabilities. I must thank my friend for insisting that I apply for the Program Coordinator position 6 years ago!

Q: What is your role at Overture and how would you describe what you do?

A: I am the Residential Program Manager for the Lakewood, Longmont, and Windsor offices. I oversee the Program Coordinators and their caseloads. I assist the coordinators with problem-solving, emergency situations, and ensuring documentation is completed per state regulations. I aim to be supportive and available to the people we serve in our residential program, their providers, and my staff.

Q: What do you most enjoy about your workday?

A: Every day is very different! I really enjoy working with the individuals in our residential program and my team. This past year I have started working in different regions and have gotten the opportunity to meet more people, providers, and PCs!

Q: If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?

A: I would love to be able to teleport or apparate like the wizards in Harry Potter. Can you imagine the time I would save not being stuck in traffic?!

Q: Name one thing on your bucket list.

A: One of my bucket list trips is taking a month (maybe two) to backpack around multiple European countries. I would need a few weeks of that time to spend in France and Italy drinking wine from all the different regions. I think the Beaujolais region in France would be a highlight for me!

Q: If you were trapped on a deserted island and could only bring one thing, what would it be?

A: A boat! I would need to not be trapped on a deserted island. I have watched too many episodes of Naked and Afraid so I know that I wouldn’t survive.
